In the chronicle of ProLux Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG from a manufacturer of niche products
to one of Europe’s leading companies in the towing, transportation and road recovery industry!

1991

Foundation

Many great stories start with a young visionary in his small garage, including that of ProLux CEO Georg Windeisen. While working as a driver for a towing service, he lost a rare tool for opening improperly parked cars. Being technically adept, he quickly manufactured the opening tool himself – that’s when the business idea and the company were born.

1994

First company premises: Am Schinderwasen 7

Together with 3 employees, Georg Windeisen succeeds in steadily expanding the company. Continuous expansion of the product range and product innovations also enable the company to move to its first premises at the address Am Schinderwasen 7 in Blaustein.

1996

Bott service partner

ProLux is now a local service partner of Bott GmbH & Co. KG. As a result, the area of vehicle and operating equipment gains in importance and becomes part of the “system supplier” concept.

1998

ProLux as a system provider

ProLux’s aim is to provide customers with the widest possible range of products and services. Therefore, in addition to towing accessories, other core competencies are developed and expansion abroad becomes increasingly important. The company is renamed ProLux Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG.

1999

First expansion Am Schinderwasen 7

An extension doubles the operating area.

2006

Second expansion Am Schinderwasen 7

The office space is again extended by 100 m² and the storage area by 200 m².

2007

Acquisition of the company CARTRATEC

Products and expertise for the vehicle transportation sector are added through the acquisition of CARTRATEC.

2008

Acquisition of the company TOMMYS Dress Systems

By acquiring this long-standing supplier of high-visibility and work clothing, ProLux is increasing its expertise in the development of new high-visibility clothing concepts. At the same time, in addition to towing services, other target groups such as garages and workshops are also being tapped into.

2008

Business expansion Lindenstraße 15

The growth of the company leads to an expansion of the company premises by 150% with the purchase of the building Lindenstraße 15 in the direct neighbourhood.

2009

Acquisition of the French company Pro Equipement

The purchase of the long-standing French dealer and competitor Pro Equipement is an opportunity to gain new customer contacts. France is becoming the strongest export country for towing technology.

2009

Partner of werbeland®

The partnership with werbeland® enables ProLux to access a nationwide network of advertising technicians and lettering professionals. This generates new business contacts, increases service for customers and enhances expertise in the area of advertising concepts.

2011

Acquisition of the company Komp.LED Light Systems

In the commercial vehicle sector, ProLux gains further development expertise through the acquisition of the supplier Komp.LED Light Systems. The company is continued as a sister company with independent production at the Lindenstraße 15 site.

2013

The ProLux philosophy combines expertise

Over the years, the core business of towing accessories has been steadily expanded to include additional services. Today, ProLux develops complete solutions such as advertising concepts, workwear and vehicle equipment using the ‘ProLux principle’. Again, the idea of the system provider is at the forefront with the guiding philosophy ‘Everything from a single source’.

2013

Business expansion Lindenstrasse 13

There is a further expansion with an additional 200m² of office space and commercial space at the Lindenstrasse 13 location.

2014

Expansion of the management team

Responsibilities are divided according to business areas through the appointment of authorised signatories. In addition to Wilhelm Schaaf in Purchasing & Logistics, owner and CEO Georg Windeisen is now supported by Roswitha Erath in Finance & Controlling and Mario Hofer in Marketing & Sales.

2016

25th company anniversary

Today, 100 employees and sales partners throughout Europe supply and advise more than 15 countries with towing solutions. Continuous expansion has made ProLux the European market leader in this field – even after 25 years in business. Services in the areas of advertising strategies, corporate clothing and vehicle equipment complete the all-round service for customers.

2018

Now also with a certificate

For the initial certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management, all work processes are analysed and structured. As a result, ProLux continues to promise consistent and sustainable product and service quality.

2022

Foundation of the company ProLux Werbetechnik

After more than 20 years of continuous growth as a department within ProLux Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG, advertising technology now becomes an independent company. This enables ProLux Werbetechnik GmbH to position itself more clearly in the region and to develop further as a competent partner for advertising and corporate image.

2024

Acquisition of the company Real Garant Shop GmbH & Co. KG

In January 2024, we expanded our portfolio with the strategic acquisition of the company Real GarantShop. With a focus on efficient business organisation, high-quality workshop supplies and individual advertising materials, we offer tailor-made solutions for car dealerships, workshops and industrial companies. The company is registered in Blaustein and will continue to operate at the Köngen site
